Likewise this year beauty pageant ‘Miss Universe Nepal’ will be an in-app pageant, according to different news portals. To ensure safety during the Covid-19 pandemic, Nepal is holding the first ever all in app beauty pageant ‘Miss Universe Nepal’. The new approach will also empower Nepali youth to take an interest in the Miss Universe Nepal pageant independent of their area or monetary conditions.

This Lockdown the news of Miss Universe Nepal pageant has been separated from Miss Nepal which came out a month ago on 11^th June 2020.  During a digital conference held on 11^th June, the new franchisee of the Miss Universe Organization in Nepal ‘Ma Nepali’ has been announced founded by Nagma Shrestha (Miss Universe Nepal 2017) in co-operation with CG Corp Global.

According to Nagma Shrestha, the inspiration for Ma Nepali holding the first ever all in-application magnificence event were the well being of members and fans during the Covid-19 pandemic while additionally empowering the young ladies of Nepal to contend in Miss Universe Nepal independent of their area or financial conditions. The digital conference was also joined by Rahul Chaudhary, Managing Director of CG Crop Group, where he also stated, “This announcement could not have come at a better moment as we look up to the beautiful women of Nepal to guide the nation with compassion through these challenging times. As the Miss Universe Nepal title provides a voice to the talented women to bring a positive impact, we are also working towards bringing the global Miss Universe event to Nepal in the coming days.” He also added that the organizers are bringing the global Miss Universe events to Nepal in future days.

She additionally has informed that the ‘Miss Universe Nepal 2020 App’ is being developed and will be accessible mid-July in the Google Play store. After the launch of the application all interested Nepali people can register and participate in the pageant. Shrestha also mentioned that the candidates will be selected via application itself.  Divas will have to register themselves from the Miss Universe Nepal 2020 App. After the registration and selection, the diva will go through online training and workshops for the competition at the same time. The grand finale of the Miss Universe Nepal will also be live streamed.

Miss Universe Nepal conference includes panelists from all over the world such as  Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini, Miss Nepal Universe 2018 Manita Devkota, Nepali Singer Indira Joshi, Creative Director at Ma Nepali Anusha Peterson, renowned pageant coach and Official Trainer at Miss Universe Nepal Jonas Gaffud.  

Last year, Pradeepta Adhikari represented to Nepal at Miss Universe 2019 phase where she was appreciated for her strong performance in front of an audience but unfortunately wasn’t set at top position. It will be interesting to see how the association gets the chance to pick the following representative of Nepal by means of an application.
