That is why, where this is grown this is harvested by the people living in the nearby region in the month of May or June. People throng the mountains in thousands to harvest this herb. Since this is not farmed and is grown in the natural habitat How does it grow, I will illustrate. There is an insect – caterpillar like a larva; like a silkworm, there is an insect similar to this A silkworm spins a silk cocoon around itself it does not make on its own but when it survives in the cold climate in summers, either it perishes or there is a fungus growth over it. Fungus, similar to a mushroom in a similar manner, there is a fungus cover. When a little fungus appears, like a shoot coming out this way the fungus grows over this insect and gradually it perishes. When there is a fungus covering on the insect and it perishes the fungus and the insect is called as Yarchagumba. It is also popularly known as Himalayan Viagra. Actually, the scientific name is Cordyceps Sinensis, Yarchagumba, is also called “winter worm” and “summer grass”. There are similar herbs belonging to this family with a little difference. It does not grow on any insect but is a simple fungus growth It is also used for roughly the same purpose. People are also growing it at homes or in their laboratories they are cultivating it inside their rooms which sell for hundreds of thousands of Rupees. The current price is about Rs 25000 in 2018. However, in the international markets, the price reaches up to $130000 per kilogram according to sources.

Many people claim that Cordyceps Sinensis will give you a lot of vitality which is used to promote sexual health. In the studies, it has been found that this controls cancer and helps in alleviating the pain in cancer patients. or in the case of lung-related diseases like COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder), where the lungs are unable to function properly. When this medicine was given in COPD cases, then the doctors observed excellent results. Let me tell you one more thing this herb, which actually classifies as Fungus but as the scientists and Allopathy are coming to know of this, they are also chasing to attain this. It is but obvious that when the demand increases then people will chase it. The region where this is found in the mountainous regions, from where people harvest, they are mutilating the ecosystem on the Himalayan range by staying there which takes about two months to harvest this they go there in June-July. They go and burn wood. When thousands of people climb the mountains and will burn wood they are cooking and washing at the same place bathing and also discarding trash there just like how we live on the plains the mountains are also getting polluted the smoke coming out of the glaciers by this burning action is causing global warming causing the melting of glaciers.
